My Yoga Journey: Finding Freedom On and Off the Mat
How yoga became the tool for building a life rooted in faith, family, and fun.

How yoga became the tool for building a life rooted in faith, family, and fun.
I never expected to fall in love with yoga. In fact, I used to feel totally out of place in traditional fitness spaces. Gyms left me feeling awkward, running felt like a punishment, and trendy fitness studios always came with a high price tag. I simply thought that exercise just wasn’t for me.
But something shifted when I stepped into my first hot power yoga class.
Music pulsed through the room. Everyone moved in harmony, yet with their own unique rhythm. My heart beat wildly with each new sequence. I didn’t know a single pose, but I felt… alive.
It wasn’t just about the exercise; it was the energy, the authenticity, the stillness after. For the first time, I tuned into what my body could do instead of what it “should” do. I realized I didn’t have to force myself into spaces that didn’t fit. I could build a practice that felt like freedom.
Yoga didn’t just change my relationship with exercise; it changed my mindset, my self-worth, the way I handled stress, grief, and joy. On the mat, I learned how to be present. How to breathe through discomfort. How to honor both effort and ease. How to make space in a busy life for prayer. Those lessons followed me off the mat into relationships, work, and faith.
One thing that hooked me from day one? The music.
A great playlist can shift everything. It can turn a tough flow into a dance. It can soften your heart in savasana. It can pull you out of your head and into your body. Music is medicine. That’s why here you’ll find flows curated with soundtracks that move your soul, whether it’s worship, throwback hits, or old-school R&B. Whatever your sound, it’s all about showing up fully present and connecting to the rhythm of life.
The studio became my safe place not just physically, but emotionally. It was where I could show up messy, tired, joyful, or anything in between, and still feel like I belonged. When life felt chaotic, my mat grounded me. Even when all I could do was lay in savasana, I knew that simply showing up was enough. The studio became my second home, surrounded by a community that shared the ups and downs of life together, rooted in encouragement and acceptance.

Then, life brought some changes. I eventually moved away from that studio, and with it the yoga family that had walked with me through so many life transitions. Suddenly, I was in a new place without a yoga home, a new routine, and a bit of an identity crisis.
So I did what I could: I practiced at home. I created space in my living room, queued up my favorite online flows, and blasted the playlists that once pulsed through the studio. But it wasn’t the same.
I missed the laughs after class. The hugs in the lobby. The little moments that reminded me I wasn’t alone.
And that’s when a new vision began to form.
What if the connection I craved didn’t have to be tied to a physical place? What if the magic of yoga, the movement, music, energy, and community, could be experienced anywhere?
That idea led to the creation of 3F Yoga.

3F stands for Faith, Family, and Fun. It’s a space that honors the spiritual side of practice without making it exclusive. A space where you can show up with your kids climbing on you, where playlists lift your spirit, and where laughter is just as welcome as stillness.
My goal? To make yoga feel like a celebration instead of a chore. To create a community where everybody belongs. Where your messy, beautiful, real life is welcome on the mat. Whatever your story, there’s space for you here.
Now, I’m stepping into a new chapter: beginning yoga teacher training and preparing to share what I’ve learned, from the mat and from life. I’ll always be a student first. But as I walk forward into this new role, my promise is to share the journey with you in the hopes that we can learn something together, building towards a better life both on and off the mat.
So, 3F Yoga isn’t just a project. It’s a piece of my heart.
It’s for the girl who never felt like she belonged in fitness culture. For the tired soul who needs a place to not take everything so seriously. For the believer who loves yoga and can still honor their faith. For anyone seeking more joy, more movement, and more meaning.
I created this space because I needed it. And my hope is that maybe, just maybe, you need it too. Whether you’re brand new to yoga or just craving more connection in your practice, this space was created for you.
